The Sheep

Our Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified sheep are tended by multi-generational gauchos on family farms in Patagonia, where they graze openly and grow some of the softest fleece in the world. RWS is the highest voluntary standard for animal welfare globally — certification requires full traceability and ensures the welfare of the sheep, the regenerative management of the land they graze on, and the fair treatment of the workers who tend to them.

The Dye

Once spun into yarn, our merino travels to a small family mill in the Italian Alps for one of the most extraordinary natural dyeing processes in the world: the first plant-based dyeing technology ever certified by Woolmark.

The technique was developed by two sisters, one a nuclear physicist, the other a pharmacist, who took over their family's centuries-old mill and reimagined what plant dyeing could be. Their proprietary process uses a recipe book of 212 different plants, hand-selected and combined to produce richly saturated, naturally beautiful color.

What sets it apart from any other natural dyeing technique: zero chemicals, zero mordants (the toxic binding agents most "natural" dye processes still rely on to fix color), zero synthetic additives, zero dye powders. Just plants, water, heat, and time.

The result is fabric that's gentler against sensitive skin, free from the synthetic compounds found in conventional textile dyes, and built to age beautifully rather than degrade.

Meet the newest addition to our material palette: our cloud-soft certified organic cashmere and merino blend. Combining merino’s much-loved performance properties with cashmere’s addictive softness, our Cashmere Cloud yarn is becoming a fast favorite. We partner with The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS), an independent standard for sustainable cashmere, which aims to improve the welfare of cashmere goats, the working conditions of herders and to protect the environment. Because we only work with the best of the best, this yarn is also certified across RWS, GOTS and OEKOTEX. Ensuring the highest safety standards and ethical practices for your peace of mind.
